(More customer reviews)I know, you're saying 8oz.=1 cup, stupid. In fluid ounces, that's right, but not in dry cups since dry products have different masses. I was disappointed because I didn't really think of that when I purchased it. You may have heard the rhyme "A pint is a pound the world around" but that is NOT correct (Think a cup of water vs. a cup of lead pellets) I did go on-line and searched for conversion charts for dry products and found some helpful sites. Haven't yet tried out their conversions so I can't verify their accuracy. I think Joseph Joseph should include a conversion chart with the product.
I had pasted a site for you to go for a conversion chart, but Amazon deleted it. Sorry. Do a search and you can find one for converting pounds of items to cups. Otherwise, I like its look and its shape for measuring and transferring ingredients to my mixing bowls.
P.S. I also use it to weigh small packages that I need to ship through the USPS.
