(More customer reviews)What not to like about a scale with a 13 lb of capacity and a resolution down to 0.002lb? A comparable unit we have at the lab cost almost 3x and only goes to 8lb, allows no standalone operation, etc.
The built-in battery is a great feature, the switch-mode power supply to recharge it saves on standby power. The stainless tray is easy to clean, the bubble level makes it easy to properly level the unit. The display is large, nicely backlit. The packaging is solid - nicely cut foam pads that hold the parts without a hint of jiggle.
The only downside to this design is the use of a LCD display. If the package on top of the scale obscures a head-on viewing of the LCD screen, it might be very difficult to read the results. A LED display would have been a better choice than a LCD display since the viewing angle is wider. OHaus seems to offer LED-displays in their higher-end scales - but at a much higher price point, see Ohaus Valor 2000 Washdown Compact Bench - Portion Control Scale V21PW6 (15 lb x 0.002 lb / 1 g) as an example.
