(More customer reviews)This is a good basic scale. It does what it's supposed to do and doesn't have any frivolous features* that get in the way. It has the necessary features: grams/ounces, tare (so you can easily zero out the weight of the container you're weighing stuff in), and auto-shutoff. It uses nice normal AA batteries (included), not hard-to-find button cells like some other scales use.
Stylewise, it's better than utilitarian but not quite sleek. Knock off a star if your primary goal is to accessorize your new $50,000 granite kitchen.
What makes it particularly useful to me is it fits in my drawer of kitchen gadgets. Thus it doesn't take up any valuable counter space when not in use but is still close enough at hand that I actually use it when need be.[*Regarding frivolous features: Once I almost bought a scale -- I actually put it in my shopping cart and was heading towards the cash register -- until I realized it had a built-in clock, so I threw it back. A clock, on a scale? What a stupid feature! What does anybody need another clock for? There's already a clock on my microwave, my oven, my coffee maker and my wrist. These are all slightly out-of-sync with each other plus they have to be reset for daylight savings time, battery/power outages, etc. I don't want another clock to attend to, especially a totally gratuitous one eating up batteries in a device like a scale that has absolutely no need for timekeeping whatsoever. "Weigh the cutlets on high for three minutes?" Right...]
