(More customer reviews)It's a scale filter that filters scale effectively, just like the original one that was in the box when I bought the kettle. I had no issues with the fit.
As a side note for scale filters, eventually the filter material will tear, disintegrate, or the joint between the plastic and the filter will finally give out and allow water to pass unfiltered at that point. They tend to last a few years at best, but hey - I'd rather buy a new one now and again than than have chalky bits in my coffee, right? ;-)
