(More customer reviews)I got this for our 2-week family vacation to Florida based on the decent reviews from others that purchased this unit. I tested on several items with known weight and they were within .1 lb and was very happy. Then the night before our early morning flight out when I tried to weigh the actual suitcases it started to behave strangely. Sometimes it would just turn off while I'm lifting the luggages, and other times it just wouldn't come on. I did the weighing the old fashion-way, using the bathroom scale, but I took the unit with me to play with it during the vacation. I ended up buyin a new set of batteries (it used 2032 watch batteries). It worked good at the beginning, but even though I had the switch in the OFF position, it seems to drain it very quickly.
I'm not going to bother returning. I'll just have to pull out the batteries when not in use. I'd look elsewhere when it's time to replace it with a better scale unless you want to use it and throw it away when the battery drains.
